Gospel Singer Buchi Atuonwu, popularly known as Buchi, has urged the public to disregard rumours making the rounds on social media that he has died.
The globally acclaimed gospel singer refuted the rumour in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Wednesday.
According to him: “There is no truth in this, as I am sound, spirit, soul, and body. It is unfortunate that desperation has driven many into all manner of mischief. Thank you all for your care and concern.”
It was reported that the purported death of the award-winning gospel minister went viral on social media on Wednesday.
He went further to make a live Instagram video were he composed a song to be released soon titled “Alive and Well”.
In the Instagram live video, he described RIP as Rice In Pepper Sause. Meaning that the death they wished him has turned to pepper soup for him and he concluded by saying “I am alive and well”
He conducted a Thanksgiving service in his Culture yard in Ikeja Lagos State Nigeria yesterday Sunday.
Buchi is a renowned Nigerian songwriter, author, poet, spoken word artist, and reggae gospel artist loved by millions around the world.
