Divine Healing In The New Testament (part 2) – Morning Coffee Lecture.
Thanks! In addition to Matthew 8 and Mark 11, there are several other passages in the New Testament that speak about divine healing. In Luke 17:11-19, Jesus heals ten lepers. In John 5:1-9, Jesus heals a man who had been an invalid for 38 years. And in Acts 3:1-10, Peter heals a man who had been lame from birth. These stories demonstrate that Jesus is not the only one who can perform divine healings. His disciples, and even ordinary people, can also perform healings through the power of God. This is an important point, as it shows that divine
So, in addition to faith, another important aspect of divine healing is the role of prayer. In James 5:14-16, James says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” This shows that prayer is an essential part of divine healing. Not only does it bring physical healing, but it also brings spiritual healing through forgiveness of sins.
Definitely! So, the New Testament also speaks about another important aspect of divine healing: suffering. In 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, Paul says, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” This passage shows that even though we may suffer in this life, we should not lose hope. God is still with us, and He is working through our suffering for our good. Even though we may not always understand why we are suffering, we can trust that God has a purpose for it. Do you want me
Another aspect of divine healing that is mentioned in the New Testament is the need for perseverance. In Hebrews 10:36, the author says, “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” This shows that we need to keep going even when things are difficult. God is faithful, and He will not abandon us. We need to keep trusting in Him and keep pursuing Him, even in the midst of trials and tribulations.
With that in mind, I’d like to share a few practical steps we can take to pursue divine healing include:

spending time in prayer and worship, reading the Bible and meditating on its promises, spending time with other believers who can encourage us, and seeking out God’s will for our lives. It’s also important to be willing to make changes in our lives, even if they are difficult. This could include things like changing our habits, our attitudes, or even our relationships. Do you have any thoughts on these practical steps?
