Divine Healing In the Old Testament part 3.

Alright, let’s take a look at the story of the Israelites in the desert, as found in Numbers 21. The Israelites were complaining about their lack of food and water, and as a result, God sent poisonous snakes into the camp.

Those who were bitten by the snakes would die, unless they looked at a bronze snake that Moses had made. The snake was seen as a symbol of God’s power to heal, and those who looked at it in faith were saved from death. This story shows how God used faith as an important part of the healing process.

Let’s look at the story of the healing of the paralytic, as found in Luke 5. In this story, four men brought a paralytic to Jesus, hoping that he would be healed. When they couldn’t get close to Jesus because of the crowd, they climbed up on the roof and lowered the man down through a hole. Jesus saw their faith and healed the man. This story shows how faith and perseverance can lead to healing.

The  role of faith in healing

Okay, let’s talk about the healing of the woman with a bleeding disorder (Issue of blood), as found in Mark 5. This woman had been bleeding for 12 years, and had spent all her money on doctors who could not help her. When she heard about Jesus, she pushed through the crowd and touched his cloak, and was immediately healed. In this story, the woman’s faith was what led to her healing. Even though she was not able to speak to Jesus directly, her faith allowed her to be healed simply by touching his cloak.
