JEHOVAH TSIDKENU (The LORD Our Righteousness).
Text: Jeremiah 23:5-6.
INTRODUCTION: As we study the ways God revealed himself through his names as a sovereign God, we will be looking at one of His names “JEHOVAH TSIDKENU” ( THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS ).
RIGHTEOUSNESS is a product of faith in God. Romans 4:2-3, 19-22.
The above name of God is a revelation of His son Jesus Christ to the sinful world as the Savior and king of the redeemed people cleansed by his blood. Jesus is our righteousness. Jeremiah 33:15-16, Colossians 1:19-23, Romans 3:24-25.
RIGHTEOUSNESS AND SALVATION.
Romans 10:9-11. The salvation of mankind is a product of faith in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ at calvary. Galatians 3:26.
We became righteous in the sight of God by believing in our hearts and confessions with our mouths that Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
When we renounce our sin in the flesh and believe with our heart that Jesus is the son of God and our Lord and Savior, we became righteous in God’s sight. ROMANS 10:1-10
JESUS OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
2 Corinthians 5:21. We were born sinners by the Adamic nature, but God sent his son Jesus who knows no sin to come and die in our place that we through him will be made righteous in the sight of God. He becomes the one God sees and call us righteous if we have him in our lives and live according to his will.
NOTE: Man made righteousness and human effort to do things right without the knowledge of Jesus and total submission to His will is of no value before God. Isaiah 64:6, Romans 3:20-22.
In summary, we are encouraged to stay strong in our faith in Christ Jesus and live in total submission to his will and leadership as it is the only way we can live righteous in the sight of God.
