The founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, has made a bold statement about leadership and personal conviction in marriage. Stating that he will not allow anyone, to control or manipulate him including his wife.
In a firm declaration during his sermon, the respected cleric emphasized his unwavering stance as the spiritual and domestic head of his household, revealing that his authority comes from divine calling and personal conviction developed long before his marriages.
“I reject anyone trying to control me. I won’t even take it from my wife because I am the head of the home,” Kumuyi declared.
He went further to explain that his position in life and ministry supercedes his marital relationships, and that he stands firm in the calling and principles that have guided him for decades in ministry.
“If she tries to control me, she knows that I stand here and I’ve been preaching before I married the first wife,” Kumuyi said.
Reflecting on his journey, Pastor Kumuyi spoke about his late first wife, Abiodun Kumuyi, who passed away in 2009, and his subsequent marriage.
“And now before I married the second wife, after the first wife died, I stand where I stand with conviction and nobody will put me under,” he asserted.
Kumuyi’s comments have stirred reactions across Christian communities and social media, with some praising his emphasis on spiritual authority and others debating the balance of mutual respect in marriage.
